How the Biogents Mosquitaire tiger mosquito trap works

The Biogents® Mosquitaire™ tiger mosquito trap is extremely effective because it uses a patented combination of visual signals, artificially generated air plumes, and a patented 3-component scent imitator called the Biogents® Sweetscent™ that mimics human skin odour.

 

This combination of features has been specifically developed for tiger mosquitoes in more than 15 years of academic research at the University of Regensburg in Germany. Its efficacy has also been tested and proven by scientists and professional mosquito control organizations worldwide.


The air plume is generated from the Biogents® Mosquitaire™ trap via a fan. This air plume also distributes the scent above and around the trap, mimicking the typical plume that is produced by a warm human body. Tiger mosquitoes are attracted to this combination of stimuli and approach the Biogents® Mosquitaire™ trap where they are sucked in by the same fan and are caught in the catch bag. They will soon dehydrate and die. No pesticides or insecticides are used.
